Changes to Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Boundary
Port of Oakland, California sent this bulletin at 01/24/2012 01:47 PM PSTEffective Thursday, January 26, 2012, the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) boundary in Terminal 2 is changing, which will allow certain Sterile Area badge holders (blue badges) access to locations in the upper and lower level of Terminal 2 that previously were only accessible by SIDA (red and green) badge holders. Specifically, Sterile Area badge holders with a need to access storage and preparation facilities on the first floor of the Terminal 2 elevator lobby (primarily Andale, HMS Host, and CMC employees) will be permitted to access door 367-2144B that leads to the elevator adjacent to Gate 29 in Terminal 2 and will have access to use the elevator itself. On the first floor, Sterile Area badge holders will have the ability to access locations in the lower level lobby but will not have access to the exterior of the building due to existing card readers in the area. Additionally, a new card reader has been installed on door 367-1150A to prevent access for Sterile Area badge holders between the lower level lobby and the hallway that runs along the first floor of Terminal 2. SIDA-badged individuals accessing door 367-1150A will now be required to present a valid badge and non-SIDA badged flight and cabin crewmembers will be required to enter their airline code in the card reader to access the hallway.
Card readers controlling access to these areas will be updated on January 26. After this time, individuals requiring access to these locations but whose badge will not provide such access should contact the Airport Badging Office at 510-563-2867.
Any questions or concerns regarding the above should be directed to Matt Davis, Aviation Security Superintendent at 510-563-2906.
