Placer County is updating its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, and we want your input. Your feedback will help shape strategies to reduce disaster risks and strengthen community resilience. This is your opportunity to share your priorities, concerns, and ideas about natural hazards, including ways to reduce losses in your community. We’d also like to hear about your experiences with disasters, how you prefer to receive emergency communications, and whether your household has a family disaster plan. Take the survey today.
UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) and Placer County OES are excited to introduce the Placer County Firewise Community Volunteer Reporting Tool! This free tool is designed for Firewise Community members and leaders to digitally report their volunteer hours and activities in real time. The survey tool is a digital version of the NFPA volunteer hourly worksheet and provides residents with a straightforward way to report their volunteer hours. It even allows residents to report multiple entrees per day. This tool can also assist Firewise Community leaders when reporting is due; UCCE will compile all the data for your community for the year and send it to you in a summarized format. The survey tool will store the data indefinitely, allowing for communities to track changes in volunteer investments and activities over time and use these metrics in grant applications or reports. Note: all information submitted to this survey will only be used by Firewise Community leads for NFPA-related reporting and by UCCE and local partners for internal use and planning. Personal information or individual residential activities will not be shared without consent.
The survey tool is run through ArcGIS Survey123. This survey can be completed on your computer, smartphone, or tablet – you just need access to the internet. You do not need to create an ESRI account: You can click “Continue without signing in” to access the survey. The survey will take about 5 minutes to complete and consists of mandatory and optional questions. You can watch a tutorial about how to use the tool on YouTube. For questions, please contact Katie Low (katlow@ucanr.edu).
