Community participation and engagement is one of the keys to effective governance. As your County Supervisor, one of my goals is to communicate and engage the residents of our county to inform and gain their feedback on issues. One of those tools for Placer County has been the Municipal Advisory Councils (MAC’s). They were first established in the early 1980s to provide advisory input on local issues. Over time, as Placer County has grown, the role and structure of MACs has evolved. Under current County Code, MACs are formally designated to review and provide comment on land-use and planning matters. However, each supervisorial office has developed additional ways to engage with residents, whether that be through community forums and/or townhall meetings. While MACs remain valuable for land-use discussions, they are not necessarily the most effective way to receive input from a greater cross section of our communities. Moving forward, MAC meetings will only be convened if there is a Planning item that needs to be presented and commented upon. Otherwise, we will hold community forums/townhall meetings to provide informational items of interest and receive feedback from attendees.
As always, your input and communication are vital to me. Representing the residents of my district effectively requires hearing directly from you. As such, I invite you to reach out at 530-889-4010 to share your thoughts or concerns.

60 temporary parking spaces added in Loomis
Equipment rolled in, and construction began on a temporary overflow parking lot at 3800 Taylor Road (former WW Moulding location) in Loomis on April 14. Through community collaboration the Town of Loomis will save nearly $65,000 on project costs. “The community, especially our businesses, asked for parking relief and together with volunteers, we are able to make that happen,” said Mayor David Ring. "Our area is so fortunate to have amazing people with the expertise and willingness to contribute their equipment and time for this project.” The temporary overflow parking lot should provide about 60 spaces.
