Funding is available again to Eastern Placer workers looking to buy a home in the North Lake Tahoe region. On April 9, the Placer County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a relaunch of the program following updates to the program’s guidelines and loan documents.
The Workforce Housing Preservation Program helps local workers secure housing by providing up to $150,000 or 16% of the home’s listing price. In exchange, the home is deed restricted for 55 years so that it can only be occupied by local workers. This financial assistance does not need to be paid back. The deed restriction auto-renews with each sale or transaction of the property. READ MORE

The North Tahoe Community Alliance is seeking candidates for a new TOT Advisory Committee. The committee is being formed to merge the responsibilities of the former TOT and Capital Advisory Projects committees and streamline efforts to direct the roughly $10 million of transient occupancy tax revenues generated by overnight stays in local hotels and short-term rentals in North Lake Tahoe.
The TOT Advisory committee will be comprised of 13 regional business and community representatives who will recommend TOT funding for projects and programs aligning with community priorities of the TOT-TBID Dollars at Work Program. Committee members will provide valuable input to the NTCA Board of Directors and the Placer County Board of Supervisors on expenditure of TOT dollars. Committee positions require a two-year commitment, with typical committee meetings taking place once per month. LEARN MORE
