Request a ride from your phone with new GO South Placer mobile app

Placer County Transit has launched the GO South Placer mobile app, which allows customers to request on-demand trips with both Placer County Transit and Roseville Transit via their phones.

GO South Placer service is similar to other ride-share services where customers can use a smartphone app to request a ride that will provide curb-to-curb service within a particular zone. Following a ride request, the app will provide customers with an estimated pick-up time, allow them to track their ride in real-time and be alerted when their driver is about to arrive. Passengers may request a trip the day of or up to 14 days in advance.

The new service will transport residents within the Rocklin/Loomis and Lincoln Dial-A-Ride zones. Rides are operated by Placer County Transit in Rocklin, Loomis and Lincoln and they cost $2.50 per ride or $1.25 for customers who qualify for discounted fares. Rides in Roseville are operated by Roseville Transit and cost $3.50 per ride or $2.50 for eligible customers.  Learn More: Request a ride from your phone with new GO South Placer mobile app | Placer County, CA

Public Works seeks feedback on Neighborhood Pedestrian Walkway Project.

The Department of Public Works is holding a Community Workshop to discuss their Neighborhood Pedestrian Walkway Pilot Project.  They are looking for community feedback on a plan to create a pedestrian walkway on Seeno Avenue near Greenhills  School.  There are no sidewalks in that area and a safe walkway could be created using a portion of the road.  The Community Workshop will take place in the small multi-purpose room at Greenhills School from 6 to 7 PM on Thursday May 25th.  If you have questions or comments about the project you can contact Senior Engineer Katie Jackson at 530-745-7521 or kjackson@placer.ca.gov
