Be prepared for earthquakes in Placer County

Student wellness centers support mental health on campus

Ten schools in Placer now have Wellness Centers onsite to support student mental health, the result of a grant-funded partnership between the Placer County Children’s System of Care and Placer County Office of Education. Learn more


New roof for Auburn’s iconic courthouse

A new roof has been installed on the historic courthouse in Auburn, just in time for the rainy season. Placer County brought in a historic consultant to work with the roofing contractor to ensure the iconic courthouse continues to be properly preserved for generations to come. Watch video

Placer County Public Health opens additional community clinic for COVID vaccine 

Vaccine Clinic

To ensure continued robust access as additional populations become eligible for their primary immunization series or for boosters, Placer County Public Health this week opened a small COVID-19 vaccine community clinic at the Maidu Community Center at 1550 Maidu Drive in Roseville. The vaccine clinic will at first be offering the Pfizer and J&J vaccines. As supplies allow, flu vaccine will also be offered at the clinic. Hours and vaccine brand availability are subject to change as needs and demand shift. Appointments and information are available and will be continually updated at myturn.ca.gov. Announcements regarding future vaccine sites will be posted to placer.ca.gov/vaccineclinics.

These submissions will be analyzed as part of the upcoming staff report and presentation to the Advisory Redistricting Commission meeting on Nov. 4. View the maps, here. Medication take-back events happening this weekend

Medication take-back post

Free medication and vaping device take-back events will take place at multiple locations across Placer County this Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prescription and over-the-counter drugs, controlled substances, veterinary medications and vaping devices will be accepted. Learn more

To preserve critical infrastructure that serves all, including hospitals, on Aug. 25, Placer County Public Health issued a warning advising residents regardless of vaccination status to use high-quality masks in indoor public settings to protect against the Delta variant.
