COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine boosters now available to eligible groups

"Can I get a booster dose?" If you received the Pfizer vaccine initially and your second dose was six or more months ago, you may be able to receive a booster if you fall within certain criteria. More information on eligibility is available here, and you may also discuss whether a booster shot is appropriate for you with your healthcare provider. Appointment registration for booster shots is now available on MyTurn and doses are also available at participating community clinics.


Pandemic rent relief still available

Rice remains Placer’s top crop

A surge in almond production put the nut crop into Placer County’s top five crops last year, helping drive a 4% increase of overall crop value to an all-time high in 2020. That’s according to the 2020 Placer County Agricultural Crop Report, presented to the county Board of Supervisors as an informational item earlier this week. Read more

Supervisor Gore to host water resources meeting in Roseville

Community members are invited to join Placer County District 1 Supervisor Bonnie Gore to learn about water resources at 5:30 p.m. on Oct 5. Attendees will learn about how Placer County, Placer County Water Agency, California American Water and City of Roseville Environmental Utilities plan for, source, store, convey and ultimately provide water to our residents and businesses. Placer County Public Health first in California to receive new grant to expand Alzheimer’s initiative

Placer County Public Health has been selected by the Alzheimer's Association and the National Association of County and City Health Officials for a new grant to expand on the existing Healthy Brain Initiative - one of eight counties nationwide and the only in California to receive this grant. The funding will be used to create a committee to improve early Alzheimer's detection and screening efforts in the county. Learn more


🏡 Celebrating workforce housing in Truckee 🏡

California State Treasurer Fiona Ma joined North Lake Tahoe officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of 288 new affordable and workforce housing units at five locations throughout the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee region. A total of $150 million was infused into the local economy to develop these housing units.  Learn more 


CDRA public counter services return to normal schedule

Beginning Monday, Oct. 4, the Community Development Resources Agency’s  public counter service will be returning to its normal schedule with virtual and in-person appointments and drop-in availability Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Auburn office. The Tahoe City office will maintain its schedule of virtual appointments Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and in-person appointments and drop-in availability Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. Learn more

To preserve critical infrastructure that serves all, including hospitals, on Aug. 25, Placer County Public Health issued a warning advising residents regardless of vaccination status to use high-quality masks in indoor public settings to protect against the Delta variant.
