Sacramento State Placer Center reaches major milestone

The Placer County Board of Supervisors applauded the land transfer for the planned Sacramento State Placer Center, marking a major milestone for the Sunset Area Plan and Placer Ranch Specific Plan. California State University, Sacramento has officially taken control of a 300-acre piece of Placer County land from the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Eli Broad, who passed away earlier this year, and his company, Placer Ranch Inc., for the future Sacramento State Placer Center. We are now seeking public input on the scope of the environmental review document for the proposed Bickford Ranch Marketplace project near the City of Lincoln, with a public meeting set for July 29. The proposed development consists of a grocery store, retail buildings, restaurants and a gas station with a convenience store. Learn more

California fully reopened the economy on June 15. Everyday life will feel a lot like before COVID-19. Restaurants, shopping malls, movie theaters, and most everyday places will be open as normal with no capacity limits or social distancing required. This does not apply to schools, health care settings and some other public settings. See the latest state COVID-19 guidance for more.

Local COVID-19 information will continue to be available on the Public Health website, including a roundup of upcoming community vaccine clinics.

County jobs website is updated regularly

Check out Placer County's employment website for a list of open positions, including internships. Job seekers can apply for positions and sign up for job alerts to be notified of openings. Those without internet access can use a computer kiosk in the Human Resources Department's lobby, at 145 Fulweiler Ave., in Auburn.
