COVID-19 restrictions ease as Placer enters orange tier

The California Department of Public Health announced this week that Placer County's COVID metrics have qualified the county to enter the orange tier, a few weeks prior to the state's move "Beyond the Blueprint" anticipated for June 15. Placer Public Health announces community vaccine clinics in targeted areas

Placer County Public Health and health care system partners will be holding special vaccination clinics during the month of June in parts of the county with lower vaccination rates or access to health services. Appointments can be made in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov and walk-ins are also welcomed. Initial clinics in Kings Beach, Colfax and Foresthill will be offering the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine to anyone 18 and older. For more information click here.


Placer County officials give fire season update

As we hit the last week of National Wildfire Awareness Month, the Placer County Office of Emergency Services, CAL FIRE NEU / Placer County Fire Department and the Placer County Sheriff's Office gave a fire season update to our Board of Supervisors. We are expecting a severe fire season – it is now more important than ever before for all three partners to work together throughout the year to ensure our residents are empowered and prepared to respond in the event of a wildfire or grass fire. Martis Valley Trail project reaches major milestone

Martis Valley

The Martis Valley Trail project in the North Lake Tahoe region reached a major milestone this week as the Placer County Board of Supervisors voted to execute an easement agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - allowing construction to move forward on a critical segment of the larger trail system envisioned for the region. Learn more


Teaming up to keep Lake Tahoe clean!

We’re teaming up on trash in North Lake Tahoe - joining neighboring jurisdictions in the non-profit Clean Tahoe initiative to increase litter and trash services in the Lake Tahoe Basin. This regional effort is one of the many actions being taken to help keep Tahoe clean this summer!  Learn more
