Stay up to date on burn day information

Western Placer County has a no burn day in effect today. This decision is made daily in response to weather trends and wildfire risk at the request of CAL FIRE. The Placer County Air Pollution District updates its website every day at 8 a.m. with burn information for the upcoming day. Learn more


Burn permits to be suspended Monday, May 24

Suspending bur permits

Increasing fire danger posed by hotter, drier conditions in the region is prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning in Placer County starting 8 a.m., Monday, May 24. This burn ban includes all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris, including leaves and branches. Learn more


Placer County taps Foresthill resident to lead the Office of Emergency Services

Placer County has named civil engineer and Foresthill resident Dave Atkinson as the assistant director of the Office of Emergency Services to lead the county’s emergency management program. Dave will serve as the main day-to-day emergency services and coordination manager as well as the lead for the county’s emergency operations center. Learn more

Our Placer County Sheriff's Office participated in a unified command training last week with other local fire and law enforcement agencies in preparation for wildfire season. Emergency internet service program now available

Funds are now available to low-income families to help cover the cost of internet service. The Federal Communications Commission launched this temporary program to help eligible families pay for home internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds are limited, so apply now to see if you qualify. Apply now

CDRA counter services now open in Auburn and Tahoe City 

County Building

Our Community Development Resource Agency has re-opened its counter services to the public in Auburn and Tahoe City. CDRA provides a variety of customer and land-use services through walk-in, call-in, over-the-counter and online for processing building permits and other land development needs. As a reminder, appointments can be scheduled through our eServices online platform. Learn more
