Hidden Falls Regional Park to increase trails

The Placer County Board of Supervisors on March 8 approved the Hidden Falls Regional Park Trails Expansion Reduced Project, which balances the demand for open space while addressing neighborhood concerns. The project doubles the amount of trails from 30 miles to 60 miles. Read more

New business district frees up $4 million for North Tahoe

This week our Board of Supervisors voted to finalize the creation of the North Lake Tahoe Tourism Business Improvement District - freeing up over $4 million in transient occupancy tax revenue for transportation and workforce housing projects while also generating an additional $6 million in assessment revenue for North Lake Tahoe annually. Our Placer County Sheriff’s Office reported this week a Kings Beach home was torn apart by a family of bears. Fortunately, the homeowners were not home when the bear and her three cubs made their visit. Please be sure to stay familiar with bear safety tips and check out our bear box loan program.
