National Walk to School Day

This week our Health and Human Services team, Placer County Sheriff's Office and many more joined Auburn Elementary School students to celebrate National Walk to School Day. The goal of this day is to raise awareness and support for the health, community and environmental benefits of regularly walking or biking to school. View video


Health and Human Services staff gather for interactive resource fair

More than 700 Health and Human Services staff gathered Oct. 1 for the first department-wide resource fair to connect, build relationships and learn more about one another’s work. The department’s six divisions work on mental health outreach, clean drinking water monitoring and everything in between. The event was designed to help staff become more well-versed in the services offered by the department, in order to better assist clients. View video 


Road work wrapping up in Tahoe City

Fanny bridge project

A major project to improve traffic flow and safety in Tahoe City is nearing completion for the season and is scheduled to be open for use in mid-to-late October, weather dependent.
