$1 billion final county budget approved

The Placer County Board of Supervisors this week approved the county’s final 2019-20 budget of $1 billion, an increase of 3% from the previous year’s budget of $970.9 million. Read more


New California WIC Card makes shopping easier

Environmental Health team hosts emergency preparedness training

Placer County Environmental Health, in partnership with the California Department of Public Health and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, hosted an unprecedented workshop for professionals from across the state to prepare for many of the roles that Environmental Health professionals play in emergencies: testing for hazardous materials, ensuring safe water and food practices at emergency shelters; housing and more. Film screening for Suicide Prevention Month

Join Placer County and our partners in observing National Suicide Prevention Month by attending a film screening of "The S Word" and a panel discussion with director Lisa Klein. This award-winning documentary film takes an intimate look at suicide attempt survivors who have turned their pain into actions and changed the way we talk about suicide. This is a free event and is open to the public, but not recommended for children younger than middle school. Register here


Placer agriculture value increases 25% in 2018

Walk to school with us Oct. 2

Oct. 2 is National Walk to School Day, and Placer County is again inviting community members to participate in its annual “Placer Walks” event. The county is also celebrating a Safe Routes to School initiative for students walking to six local schools. Read more
