Heritage Trail Museums Tour is back

Burn permits suspended starting June 17

Due to warming temperatures and abundant grass crops from this year's wet winter, CAL FIRE is suspending burn permits in Placer, Nevada, Yuba and Sierra counties effective June 17. Learn more


Voters approve increased funding for fire services

Measures to increase an assessment fee to fund local fire services in the Foresthill and Placer Hills service areas received the two-thirds majority vote required to pass. The Placer County Registrar of Voters certified the election results for the Placer Hills and Foresthill fire protection districts special election held May 7. Read more


Major forest health project to reduce wildfire risk

The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved two contracts this week to begin the French Meadows Forest Restoration Project as well grant agreements to help pay for this collaborative effort to reduce wildfire risk. Read more


Placer promises $8M for Auburn workforce housing project

A workforce housing proposal in North Auburn got a boost this week with the Placer County Board of Supervisors voting to contribute assets valued at nearly $8 million toward the project. Read more


Health and Human Services to test new ways to collect client feedback

Placer County Health and Human Services was among 150 organizations from across the country selected by the Fund for Shared Insight to participate in Listen4Good, and will now pilot a program designed to gather more authentic, thorough client feedback. Read more
