Placer County delegation meets with congressional leaders

United State Capitol

A delegation of Placer County leaders participated in the 49th annual Capitol-to-Capitol program in Washington D.C. this week. The delegation of seven county leaders met with Congressman Doug LaMalfa, Congressman Tom McClintock and staff from the offices of Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Kamala Harris. Under discussion were issues related to the Placer County Conservation Plan, transportation funding for major projects like Placer Parkway, health care, wildfire preparation and emergency response. Youth in Government Day

Placer County hosted Placer High School students for the inaugural Youth in Government Day on Wednesday, May 8. It was an inspiring day for both students and county workers. The teens learned about career paths in local government and explored a day in the life of Placer County employees. Watch video


Opportunity to get involved in District 5

Three local Municipal Advisory Councils in District 5, represented by Supervisor Cindy Gustafson, have open seats. Citizens who are interested in working alongside Placer County to serve their community are encouraged to apply. Learn more 


Wildfire Preparedness Week

This week, May 5 through 11, is California’s Wildfire Preparedness Week. During the week, residents are encouraged to learn more about how they can do their part to protect their community and be prepared for the wildfire season. Lake Tahoe business workshop series

Continuing its commitment to supporting local business, Placer County announced its Business Resource Center workshop series schedule for the Lake Tahoe region. The series will consist of one workshop a month that will cover topics ranging from business plan development to social media marketing. Learn more
