Special election voter information guides distributed

Supervisors approve Placer County Government Center Master Plan update

Continuing Placer County’s commitment to providing efficient services to the community and creating solutions for attainable housing, the Board of Supervisors approved a plan to reimagine the Placer County Government Center campus in North Auburn. Read more


Help guide the future of recreation in Placer County

Placer County is seeking community input to help develop the first-ever countywide Parks and Trails Master Plan draft at two upcoming public workshops. Community members are invited to provide feedback as focus group participants at meetings set for May 7 in Kings Beach and May 15 in North Auburn. Read more


Burn permits now mandatory for residential burning

Starting this month, the CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit will require dooryard burning permits for residential burning within Nevada, Yuba and Placer counties. Learn more 


Winery and farm brewery ordinance

The public review period for the winery and farm brewery ordinance draft Environmental Impact Report, which analyzes new rules that would refine regulation of wineries and farm breweries in Western Placer County, has been extended from June 3 to June 10. Read more


Free oil filter exchange is back for the month of May

Big Day of Giving

Today is the 7th annual Big Day of Giving. This 24-hour giving event is sponsored by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation in partnership with local non-profits. This year, 601 organizations are participating, including 94 in Placer County. In 2018, Big Day of Giving raised over $500,000 for Placer County organizations. Learn more
