Health officials urge measles vaccinations

Connected with recently-reported cases in Butte and Tehama counties, the Placer County Public Health Division is investigating three confirmed cases of measles in one family. They’ve identified one location in Auburn where others may have been exposed. Details


Bidding Supervisor Montgomery farewell

It was a bittersweet moment for Placer County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery, who bid a fond farewell during her last meeting on the Board of Supervisors March 26. Montgomery has served on the board for more than 10 years representing District 5, which encompasses communities from North Lake Tahoe all the way to Auburn. She is leaving to take a position in the governor's new administration as director of the Forest Management Task Force. View video


Deadline for Charter Review Committee applications extended

The Placer County Charter is a governing document that guides the organizational structure, duties and responsibilities of the county’s elected and appointed officials. It’s up for review this year and the application period to serve on the county’s Charter Review Committee has been extended to May 1. Learn more


Last chance to participate in county tree removal program

As Placer County continues its project to remove dead and dying trees threatening county infrastructure, county officials are reminding property owners of the April 15 deadline to complete right-of-entry forms needed to have eligible trees removed from their property. Learn more 


New voting equipment coming to Placer

The Placer County Board of Supervisors this week approved a contract to purchase new voting equipment to increase functionality and improve ballot count and review efficiency. The new equipment has better security standards and auditing functions than the county’s current voting system and is required to meet new state election standards. Read more

With construction for the replacement of Walerga Bridge in Roseville set to begin next week, the county has launched a website to provide construction updates, a 24-hour hotline and more details on the project. Visit site

The West Placer Municipal Advisory Council in District 1, represented by Supervisor Bonnie Gore, has an open seat. Citizens who are interested in working alongside Placer County to serve their community are encouraged to apply. To be eligible to serve as a MAC member you must reside, own real property or a business, or manage and operate a business within the MAC boundaries. Learn more
