Granite Bay Community Park is home to a new memorial that pays tribute to our nation’s fallen service members and their families. A dedication ceremony was held on Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day, Sept. 30, with a special dedication ceremony to honor Gold Star families and veterans. Read more


Meet pets, wild animals open house this weekend

Gold Country Wildlife Rescue and Placer County Animal Services will hold a joint open house to showcase their programs for domestic and wild animals on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Learn more


Old Auburn Cemetery tours

Meet the ghosts of the Old Auburn Cemetery on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Witnesses, officers, jurors and murderers will rise from the grave to tell you their stories. Discover tales of love and lives lost, revenge and mourning as they are brought to life through first-person narratives. Re-enactors from Placer County Museums will be stationed at plots throughout the cemetery to impart the buried history of some of Auburn’s permanent residents.
