As containment on the Sliger Fire continues, residents in the Foresthill area are still under an “advisory” warning in case the fire status changes. There are currently no other restrictions in any areas of Placer County in regards to this fire. Residents in the Todd Valley and surrounding areas are advised that the fire behavior may change and affect the status of evacuations. All road closures have been lifted with no restrictions. The American Red Cross is promoting their Sound the Alarm program, which will host a series of home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events across the country. Together, with fire departments and other community partners, Red Cross volunteers will canvass at-risk neighborhoods, install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms and provide fire prevention along with safety education.
