Sliger Fire update

As containment on the Sliger Fire continues, residents in the Foresthill area are still under an “advisory” warning in case the fire status changes. There are currently no other restrictions in any areas of Placer County in regards to this fire. Residents in the Todd Valley and surrounding areas are advised that the fire behavior may change and affect the status of evacuations. All road closures have been lifted with no restrictions. Follow Placer County Sheriff's Office on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

Continuing its program to improve the health of fish and wildlife, the Placer County Fish and Game Commission is soliciting grant proposals from nonprofits, schools and other organizations, as well as individuals.  Read more


Sound the alarm. Save a life.

The American Red Cross is promoting their Sound the Alarm program, which will host a series of home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events across the country. Together, with fire departments and other community partners, Red Cross volunteers will canvass at-risk neighborhoods, install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms and provide fire prevention along with safety education. Recovery Month highlight: Screening clinics

All this month, as part of Recovery Month, Placer County is celebrating substance use and mental health recovery, while highlighting programs that help people along that path. Did you know that Placer County offers free, walk-in screening clinics for both substance use and mental health in both Roseville and Auburn? Attendees are referred to resources and programs to meet their needs.
