Candidate filing for the Nov. 6 general election is open to Placer County residents from July 16 – Aug. 10. Over 175 positions are available on various local city councils, school boards, parks, fire, water and utility districts in the county. Learn more


Big win for workforce housing

The Meadow View Place workforce housing development in Martis Valley will get a $16.25 million boost from California’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program, program managers announced last week. Read more


Heritage Trail Museums Tours continues in Lincoln and Rocklin

The Heritage Trail Museums Tour continues this Saturday, July 7, in Lincoln and Rocklin. Take a step back in time at the Fruitvale School in Lincoln or the Sierra College Natural History Museum, both offering free admission. Sierra College’s museum is recognized as one of the top 30 college natural history museums in the country – and the only two-year college to be ranked. Parking is free on Saturdays, too! Learn more
