Proposed county budget, housing updates on agenda for June 26 supervisors meeting

At their meeting in Auburn June 26, the Placer County Board of Supervisors will consider the county's proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year starting July 1. They'll also hear an update on the county's housing program work plan for this year and weigh in on a proposed multi-family and workforce housing development on the county's government center campus in North Auburn. Read more

Garden blooms at Roseville mental health facility with help of community support

Kristine Monks has always loved to garden. Outside her small apartment, though, she is only allowed a few small pots. It’s that same small apartment where Monks has tended to isolate herself as she’s wrestled with mental health challenges. But when she walked through the doors of the Cirby Clubhouse, Placer County’s outpatient facility in Roseville, she not only found a community that welcomed her with open arms but also the opportunity to hone her green thumb. Read more

Free election candidate workshops available this summer

Join the Placer County Elections Office for one of their upcoming candidate workshops to learn about the requirements for running for public office, which offices are up for election and the basics of running a political campaign. The free workshops will be held at five locations throughout Placer. Learn more


Wood stove replacement incentive

Have an old wood burning stove or fireplace? Eligible applicants may qualify for funding for a new, more-efficient replacement or complete unit removal. This El Dorado County program is also open to Placer County residents. Read more
