Homeless count for 2018 shows slight decline

The number of homeless individuals in Placer County decreased slightly in 2018 compared to the previous year, according to results from the annual point-in-time count published this week by the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras. A total of 584 homeless individuals were counted across the county, from Roseville to North Lake Tahoe. Learn more


Homelessness initiatives update, Kings Beach public art on agenda for April 10 Board of Supervisors meeting

At their April 10 meeting in Auburn, the Placer County Board of Supervisors will hear an update on several county initiatives to address homelessness. The board will also consider approval of two community-selected pieces of public art for roundabouts in Kings Beach, as well as a budget revision to help fund proposed traffic and safety improvements at the intersection of Bell Road and Interstate 80 in North Auburn. Placer Sustainability Plan community workshops set for April in Loomis and Kings Beach

Join a community workshop for a detailed presentation on the Placer County Sustainability Plan - a roadmap outlining how the community and county can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The workshop will also include an open-house style event with a variety of stations with information and subject matter experts available to answer your questions and listen to your feedback. Placer County to host permit process improvement workshops in Tahoe City
