Placer approves purchase agreement for Kings Beach Center property

A new agreement approved by the Placer County Board of Supervisors this week could result in the first new hotel in Kings Beach in decades. Read more


Placer County Public Health Laboratory to close; county to contract with Sacramento for services

Following a lengthy discussion, the Placer County Board of Supervisors voted this week to authorize a contract with Sacramento County to provide public health laboratory services, and close the Public Health Laboratory in Auburn by the end of June. Read more


Placer County wineries win big at prestigious wine competition

Placer County's wine is the toast of the town, as 11 Placer County wineries won 57 medals in the prestigious 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Out of 6,960 entries from across the U.S., Placer wines earned a best of class award, one double gold and nine gold, 27 silver and 19 bronze medals. Learn more about Placer's wineries and other local products at www.PlacerGrown.org

Supervisors approve state and federal legislative platform

The Placer County Board of Supervisors this week approved this year's legislative platform - the basis for the county’s advocacy efforts with the executive and legislative branches of state and federal government to help ensure that federal and state policy and funding decisions benefit Placer County. Read more


Placer's Child Support Services ranks fourth out of 49 in state performance measures for 2017

Congratulations to the dedicated staff at Placer County Child Support Services, who were just ranked fourth out of 49 local child support agencies in California for 2017! The latest ranking is the highest ever achieved by the department. Read more


Placer County Planning Commission seeks members

Recent resignations have left two vacancies on the Placer County Planning Commission. Residents of District 2 (Lincoln, Sheridan and the western portions of Rocklin and Roseville) and District 5 (the communities from Auburn to North Lake Tahoe) who are interested in helping shape land use decisions are encouraged to submit an application to represent their district.
