Hidden Falls parking reservation system starts Sept. 1

Hidden Falls park parking lot

Hidden Falls Regional Park’s new parking reservation system is set to go live Sept. 1, but peak-time fee collections won’t begin until Oct. 15. The new system is designed to reduce traffic and congestion at the popular park and make it easier for visitors to plan their visit. Learn more

Free back-to-school immunization clinics in Auburn for low-income families

Placer County is partnering with two local medical providers to offer free back-to-school immunization clinics for children without access to vaccines. Children who are uninsured or have Medi-Cal can attend clinics at either Western Sierra Medical Clinic or Chapa-De Indian Health. Learn more


Share your thoughts on proposed Placer Sports and Event Center in Roseville

Placer County is seeking input for the proposed Placer Sports and Event Center project at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville, with a public meeting on the proposal set for Aug. 29. The project would build a 130,000-square-foot, indoor sports and event center, with possible expansion and a culinary center in later phases. Learn more


Heritage Trail continues at Sierra College Natural History Museum in Rocklin

As part of the Heritage Trail Museum Tour, the Sierra College Natural History Museum is offering free admission this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The museum is recognized as one of the top 30 college natural history museums in the country – and the only two-year college to be ranked. Parking is free on Saturdays, too! Learn more


Take part in the future of the North Tahoe Event Center

The draft final lease for a public-private partnership between the North Tahoe Public Utility District and Laulima Development LLC for the management and operation of the North Tahoe Event Center has been released. The district will host two upcoming public meetings in Kings Beach about the proposal. Placer County Visitors Bureau names new CEO

The Placer County Visitors Bureau announced Monday that Rebekah Evans has accepted an offer to become the next CEO of the organization. Evans is expected to start Sept. 5. Read more
