As you’re celebrating our great nation and spending quality time with family and friends this weekend, we urge you to take a few simple steps to stay safe and sound. And just as a reminder - fireworks of all sizes and types are illegal in unincorporated areas of the county. Placer greenlights funding for Roseville’s Gathering Inn

The Placer County Board of Supervisors agreed this week to grant $275,000 to The Gathering Inn, a Roseville-based homeless shelter program. The funding will support shelter services for the next year, through June 2018. Read more


Placer looks to improve North Tahoe roadways

Aiming to reduce traffic impacts and increase alternative transportation in the North Lake Tahoe region, the Placer County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved an update to the Tahoe Region Capital Improvement Program - outlining needed future projects and increasing development fees to pay for them. Read more


Placer approves $1.7M for North Tahoe projects

Continuing its investment in the infrastructure and marketing of eastern Placer County and North Lake Tahoe, the Placer County Board of Supervisors Tuesday voted to approve agreements with three local partners for new community projects and an interim contract with the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association. The Heritage Trail Museum Tour makes its next stop in Tahoe City

Free admission to Placer County’s museums continues this weekend during the Heritage Trail Museum Tour at two Tahoe City museums. The Gatekeepers Museum and Watson Cabin will offer free admission Saturday, July 1, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Read more


Summer @ Your Library festivities heat up with Wild Things, magic and more

From Wild Things exotic animal shows to Mad Science and arts and crafts galore, there is so much fun to be had this summer at Placer County libraries. This week, we can't wait to see Brian Scott Magic in Colfax and Granite Bay. The stuffed animal sleepovers in Auburn and Rocklin are also bound to be hits.
