Placer moves forward with affordable housing action plan

Facing increasingly tight access to affordable housing like much of California, Placer County took action Tuesday to develop an affordable housing work plan for the entire county and joined the Tahoe Truckee Regional Housing Council toward setting a regional housing strategy for the North Lake Tahoe area, specifically. Placer County releases comprehensive health report; first in nearly two decades

Placer County is proud to release the 2017 Community Health Status Assessment, a comprehensive look at the health and well-being of Placer residents that identifies health trends and disparities.

While the county is ranked among the top five healthiest in the state, this report will help individuals and groups – from elected officials to healthcare providers to community members – make informed decisions to help spur action and address health challenges together. Learn more

Upcoming forum to focus on teen drug use, drinking

Parents and teens are invited to join the Coalition for Auburn and Lincoln Youth and other community partners at a forum the evening of April 25. Attendees will learn strategies to prevent underage drinking and drug use, as well as strengthen family bonds. Download a flier with more information. 


Deadline approaching to apply for storm damage loans

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans to businesses and residents in certain counties, including Placer, that were affected by the severe winter storms, flooding and mudslides that occurred Jan. 5-14, 2017. If you suffered storm-related damage during this time, you may apply for assistance hereThe filing deadline to return applications for property damage is April 24, 2017. The deadline to return economic injury applications is Nov. 24, 2017. 


Merrill Haber joins Placer County Planning Commission representing District 5

The Placer County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved the appointment of Merrill C. Haber to the Placer County Planning Commission representing District 5. Haber is a resident of Homewood and brings over 30 years of experience as an attorney and mediator. Read more
