 A ballot measure to increase retail sales tax by half a percent to raise funds for sweeping transportation improvements throughout Placer County was placed on the Nov. 8, 2016, presidential general election ballot July 12 by the county board of supervisors. Read more

 With several major planned projects in the North Lake Tahoe area still moving through the review process, the Placer County Board of Supervisors will postpone their quarterly Tahoe meeting in July until Sept. 13. More information

 Developing Placer Ranch and the Sunset Area in western Placer County are key to the county's economic future. This week, the county board of supervisors approved a contract to prepare environmental documentation for the plans, as well as an agreement with the Placer Ranch property owner. Read more
