New Neighborhood Blade Signs Coming Soon
As many of you know, ONE-PS received Measure J grant funding to purchase and install neighborhood blade signs on traffic signal poles at major intersections throughout Palm Springs. The signs have been manufactured, delivered to the City, and installation will begin soon. Keep an eye out for the new neighborhood blade signs as they start appearing across the city! The project is expected to be completed by Labor Day.

Movie Colony East Neighborhood hosts Celeb Cocktail Party
Movie Colony East neighbors gathered on June 20 for the annual MCE Cocktail Party, hosted by Don and Judy Wilson at their stunning modernist home. Surrounded by an extraordinary collection of mid-century art, guests enjoyed elegant hors d'oeuvres, an open bar featuring Rat Pack-inspired signature cocktails, wine and beer, and plenty of lively conversation. One of the evening's biggest hits was Frank Sinatra's favorite: Jack Daniel's over ice with a splash of water.
Adding to the Old Hollywood atmosphere, Lauri Svedberg created whimsical life-size black-and-white celebrity cutouts of neighborhood legends Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour, and Hedy Lamarr, which quickly became favorite photo opportunities. Most importantly, the evening brought neighbors together, with many meeting for the first time and forming new friendships. It was a memorable celebration of the Movie Colony East tradition of community, hospitality, and its rich Hollywood heritage.

Desert Water Agency updates
Annual Water Quality Report Now Available
Desert Water Agency (DWA) is dedicated to providing a safe, reliable water supply today and for future generations. As part of our commitment to water quality, DWA tests more than 2,500 water samples a year. The results of these tests are published each year in a Water Quality Report, as required by state law.
We are proud to report that our tap water continues to be safe for drinking, cooking, cleaning and your other uses. In this year’s report, you’ll also find:
- Updates on water quality in our service area
- A letter from our general manager
- Frequently asked water quality questions and answers

 Desert Water Agency Board Adopts New Rates
On June 16, 2026, the Desert Water Agency (DWA) Board of Directors approved a rate increase for water, recycled water and wastewater. The increase is the fourth in a previously adopted five-year rate plan that was approved in 2023 after a series of public meetings. As a public agency, DWA cannot profit from its operations. Rates are determined by the cost of providing service.
Updated rates for recycled water went into effect on July 1, 2026, and will appear on August bills. New rates for potable water and DWA’s wastewater service charge will go into effect on January 1, 2027, and appear on February 2027 water bills. The new rates are timed to start when water usage is typically the lowest, helping minimize the initial impact.
The rate increase is based on an independent study that showed rates were not adequately covering the cost of service. The updated rates will help the Agency continue to upgrade its distribution system and ensure the delivery of safe and reliable water.

2026 City Parks Annual Maintenance Schedule
Maintenance project begins September 20
Each fall, the Palm Springs Parks & Recreation Department begins its annual maintenance and overseeding schedule to keep our city parks healthy, green, and welcoming throughout the cooler months. Overseeding replaces the warm-season Bermuda grass, which naturally goes dormant and turns brown in winter, with a cool-season ryegrass that thrives in lower temperatures. This process not only keeps our parks looking vibrant and inviting year-round, but it also helps maintain durable turf for recreation, sports, and community gatherings.

Playgrounds, trails, and public facilities will remain open and available for use during overseeding unless otherwise noted.
