When your water heater goes out unexpectedly, your number one priority is getting a replacement. We’ve got you covered!
Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) now offers an Emergency Water Heater Replacement program that guarantees hot water restored within 48 hours.
-
Call (408) 260-5255, and our partner contractor will confirm your eligibility and schedule your in-home assessment for the same or next day. Someone is available 24/7 to take your call.
- A contractor will perform a free water heater inspection and provide you with a proposal detailing the necessary upgrades and applicable rebates for an energy-efficient heat pump water heater.
- You can then review the proposal, available rebates and participation agreement, before moving forward with the installation. Once the paperwork is signed, the contractor will take care of necessary compliance and inspections, and your project will be underway.
-
You will have hot water within 48 hours of your initial call! Pay the contractor the final costs after any applicable rebates. This payment covers the installation cost, with no additional cost for the fast-tracked installation.
You can’t plan for an emergency water heater failure. But you can make a note to call (408) 260-5255 in the event of one.

 Preparing for Extreme Heat
July and August are typically the hottest summer months. With more clean resources on the grid than ever before, the grid is increasingly able to handle the heat. We want to make sure you are, too.
If a heat emergency occurs, the Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services will populate a list of all open and available cooling centers in Santa Clara County. You can also scroll down the page for a number of hot weather safety tips. Take note now and bookmark for later!
Grid Temp Check
In the statewide Summer Loads and Resources Assessment for 2025, the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) forecasted that increases in resource development will continue to improve resource availability. With over 5,000 additional megawatts of energy capacity from batteries, wind, and solar added to the grid since September 2024, the grid is more resilient than ever. CAISO, which operates the grid, projects that the grid’s energy supply will exceed seasonal demand.
Extreme weather events may happen suddenly, and we can all do our part to keep the grid strong should an emergency occur. Sign up for Flex Alerts at FlexAlert.org or download the ISO Today app to learn when energy conservation is needed.
