Are You on the Right Rate Plan?
Your rate plan determines how you pay for the energy you use. Did you know that you can select from multiple rate plans to best meet your energy needs?
You play an active role in your energy bill. Ensuring that your lifestyle aligns with your rate plan can help you save.
There are two main types of rate plans: Time-of-Use (TOU) and Tiered rates.
TOU rates: The price of electricity is determined by when you use it and can vary by season, time of day, and time of week. On a TOU rate plan, you can save by shifting energy use from off- to on-peak times of the day. The majority of customers are on a time-of-use rate, where the price of electricity is highest from 4 – 9 p.m., which is when you should avoid using high-energy use appliances.
Tiered rates: The price of electricity is determined by how much energy you use each month. On a tiered rate plan, energy efficiency improvements can help you save by reducing your overall use.

Celebrating Small Businesses Every Day of the Week
Small businesses are the pillars of our community. Investing locally keeps our community strong, and investing in clean equipment keeps our community healthy.
SVCE offers up to $20,000 in rebates to businesses upgrading gas appliances to efficient, electric equipment; non-profits are eligible for an additional $10,000.
Not ready to reserve a rebate quite yet? Complete an interest form using the “Need More Help?” button and get connected to an SVCE staff member who can answer any questions you may have.
If you or someone you know is a business owner in the SVCE service area, we encourage you to share this information and learn more about the opportunity to make upgrades in your space. At this time, we believe 90% of businesses in our service area are eligible, regardless of their size.

SVCE Attends Victory Pass Ribbon Cutting
As your local clean electricity provider, we are excited to share details about one of the renewable projects powering our community! Last month, SVCE celebrated the Arica and Victory Pass solar and battery storage projects coming online. SVCE is receiving 100 MW of solar capacity and 25 MW of battery capacity from the Victory Pass project - enough clean energy to power 58,000 homes annually.
The renewable solar and the battery storage support the commitment SVCE has to investing in a clean, resilient, energy future.
To date, California Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs) have secured more than 18,000 MW of new solar, wind, geothermal, energy storage, and demand response resources. SVCE is responsible for executing twenty-one of the collective 116 CCA power purchase agreements.
