Solar EV Chargers in Cupertino and Sunnyvale
The cities of Cupertino and Sunnyvale recently unveiled their mobile, off-grid EV charging stations, which were funded through the SVCE Community Resilience Program. Along with improving accessibility to charging in public spaces, the units’ off-grid capacity allows them to power EVs and additional equipment during an outage or emergency event.
The City of Sunnyvale stations can be found at the public library and community center. The Cupertino stations will rotate through different city parks and facilities.
The solar EV chargers (EV Arcs) are just two examples of the grant-funded projects improving resiliency among the 13 SVCE member agencies. Explore how SVCE and your community are reducing the impact of power outages while supporting decarbonization below.

New Solar and Storage Facility Online
Hip hip, hooray! Victory Pass, the large-scale solar and battery energy storage project in Riverside County, is officially online. Victory Pass represents the 12th joint Power Purchase Agreement between SVCE and Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) and boasts 200 megawatts (MW) of generation capacity and 200-megawatt hours (MWh) of battery storage.
“The SVCE Board of Directors has prioritized clean, renewable and reliable power sources, with an emphasis on new projects that will increase clean capacity for many years to come. Victory Pass is the eighth long-term project to come online for SVCE customers, helping us deliver on our commitment to our communities and support the state-wide movement to a clean energy future for all.” - Monica Padilla, SVCE CEO
The Victory Pass project generates enough renewable energy to power nearly 90,000 homes annually.
