EmPower SV Video Competition
Creative call for all middle and high school students! Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE), your local electricity provider, has opened the 2024 EmPower Silicon Valley scholarship short video competition. Through the competition students are asked to unleash their creativity and explore the world of efficient, clean, electric technologies. With prizes of up to $3,000, students going to school in SVCE member communities have the chance to shine.
Registration is open until May 3, and participants can choose from three exciting prompts to showcase their talent. Prompts include:
-
Induction Cooktops for President: Create a campaign video for induction cooking
-
Pump Up the Jams!: Remix a song into a hit about heat pump water heaters
-
Got Charge?: Create an iconic commercial showcasing EV chargers
Educators- share this with your students. Parents- share this with your networks. Students- share this with your classmates! Inspiring change and creating a cleaner, healthier community, is a group effort.

Rebates That Fit Your Lifestyle
We know that going electric isn’t a light lift.
“I think most people would like to do the right thing and try to do something for the environment, but if it’s going to cost them a lot of money, it makes it tough. But between the tax rebates and the Silicon Valley Clean Energy rebates, these things are affordable.” - Curt, Gilroy Resident & SVCE Customer
But it is possible. Don’t just take our word for it! Hear first-hand how SVCE rebates are helping your neighbors go electric.

Community Impact Reports
Drum roll, please. The results are in, and SVCE customers, you should be proud of yourselves! Last year, SVCE communities took advantage of over $1 million in FutureFit Homes rebates claimed for electric home upgrades. And our 4% electric generation rate discount provided $17.5 million in on-bill savings, that’s something to write home about.
Since SVCE’s launch in 2017, together, we’ve invested over $3.7 billion in clean and renewable energy projects, totaled more than $100 million in on-bill savings for customers like you, and put $116 million towards customer programs.
The future is electric. And we’re amped to be on this journey with you.
