SVCE Impact Report
|
|
Last week, Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) published an Impact Report that details how the agency is delivering on its commitment to provide clean, reliable electricity and reinvest locally. The report includes a variety of success metrics which range from customer bill savings, to physical projects, and emissions. |
Highlights from the report include:
-
Contracting for over $3.7 billion of clean energy projects. This progress puts SVCE on track to reach the 2030 state goal of 60% Renewable Portfolio Standard five years early.
- $100M worth of savings on customer bills through a maintained customer rate discount since SVCE launch.
-
$20M committed for multifamily affordable housing electrification and EV charging support.
- $9.25M dispersed for income-qualified customer bill relief.
- More than $1M distributed and $1.3M reserved for customer rebates.
-
Obtaining an ‘A’ investor-grade credit rating from S&P Global and received an upgraded ‘Baa1’ rating from Moody’s which indicates a strong and stable financial position.

Yule Be Amazed by Induction Cooking
Make your holiday cooking merrier with an induction cooktop. Whether you’re a homeowner or renter, you can experience a safer, quicker, and more precise way to prepare festive feasts through induction cooking. As a SVCE customer, enjoy a special gift of $50 off induction cooktops through February 29 on the Appliances Assistant.
Why are induction cooktops amazing?
- Induction cooktops can boil water 2 to 3 times faster by directly heating your cookware using magnetic fields.
-
Cooking with induction does not require open flames, resulting in a safer kitchen without harmful indoor air pollutants.
-
If the induction cooktop is accidentally left on, the surface will not produce any heat unless the magnetic cookware is placed on top.
-
Induction's precise control can help your dishes turn out just right, as they can keep pots simmering at the perfect temperature.
-
Since induction cooktops only heat the cookware directly on top of it, any spills won’t burn on the cooktop surface and can be easily wiped off for faster cleaning.

SVCE Signs Contract with Pattern Energy for 100 MW from SunZia
SVCE and Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) have each signed 15-year contracts with Pattern Energy Group LP (Pattern Energy) to receive electricity from SunZia Wind, a new renewable energy project located in Lincoln, Torrance, and San Miguel counties in New Mexico.
SunZia Wind is expected to provide over 3,500 megawatts (MW) of new wind energy generation to the California Independent System Operator and other western energy markets. The total electricity from the project is enough to power the needs of more than 3 million Americans. The wind generation will provide a continued source of clean electricity in the late afternoon and early evening hours, the region’s peak demand period, when solar output decreases.
The project is expected to begin full construction in 2023 and come online in 2026. Once completed, SVCE will receive 100 MWs of wind power.

Get Inspired by Your Neighbors
Your neighbors who have upgraded to clean electric living are enjoying increased comfort and reduced exposure to toxic pollutants in their home. Congregation Beth Am, one of the Electric Showcase Awards winners from Los Altos Hills, upgraded their multi-structure campus-type synagogue by installing heat pump space heating and cooling equipment.
The guidance from Congregation Beth Am to their neighbors is straightforward: “It can be expensive, but there are incentives out there. You have to find them and apply for them. Use the experts through SVCE. They are very helpful and have the expertise to ensure you are getting the right solution for your building.”
