Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) has selected 13 homeowners, an apartment complex, a synagogue, and a hair salon as the 2023 Electric Showcase Award winners. The Electric Showcase Awards recognize and reward community members that are taking positive actions to reduce local emissions, and who have or are in the process of upgrading from gas to electric living. The clean energy future is here, and it’s happening right now in our community.
Winners include residents and businesses from Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Sunnyvale and Unincorporated Santa Clara County – they represent a wide range of journeys to achieving a clean, gas-free home or business. Visit the awards webpage to learn more about each winners’ journey to go electric.

More Than 100 EVs to Explore
Let's celebrate Drive Electric Week happening from September 22 to October 1. It's a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. Gasoline-powered vehicles are the largest source of emissions in Silicon Valley, so upgrading to an all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle is an effective way to reduce local pollution while also cutting down on fuel costs.
Visit the EV Assistant to explore a wide range of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars and compare them to traditional gasoline models to learn about maintenance and fuel savings. Additionally, while you're on the platform, don't forget to explore the various available incentives and rebates. Simply enter your zip code and income and select the vehicle you’re interested in – the EV Assistant will tell you what incentives apply to you.

The City of Saratoga installed backup battery systems at 14 traffic light intersections to increase traffic safety during power outages.
-
The City of Sunnyvale installed solar and battery storage at their new city hall, which is the first LEED platinum certified city hall building in the country
-

Silicon Valley Clean Energy is thrilled to present an incredible opportunity for contractors through the FutureFit Fundamentals Program. This initiative is designed to provide contractors with valuable resources and incentives. By participating in the online training course, contractors can gain expertise in all-electric building practices and earn $500 upon successfully completing the course. But that's not all – contractors can also earn an additional $500 for each efficient, electric appliance they install for SVCE customers, with the potential to earn up to $5,000 annually.
