Transform Your Kitchen Cleaning Experience with Induction Cooking
Consider simplifying your cleaning process with an induction cooktop. The surface of induction cooktops remains cool because they produce their heat through magnetic induction which heats the cookware directly rather than heating the surface around the cookware. This means that spills or food that boils and splatters over will not burn and harden onto the cooktop surface, making it easy to clean the surface with a damp cloth or sponge.
There are many resources and incentives for you to transform your kitchen cleaning experience.
-
BayREN is offering up to $750 cashback to replace an existing gas-powered stove for a new induction electric cooktop.
- The Inflation Reduction Act will provide households up to $850 for an induction cooktop. It is expected to be available in 2024 and will be available to households who meet the income eligibility.
-
Explore induction cooktop options on the Appliances Assistant.
- If you want to try out induction cooking, you can borrow a portable induction cooktop kit from the Sunnyvale Public Library or with PG&E’s Induction Loaner Program.

Maximize Energy from the Summer Sun with Solar + Battery Storage
Solar paired with battery storage not only helps keep your lights on, but it helps maximize the benefits of your solar power. If there are outages, a home battery can keep your appliances or necessary medical equipment running for a few hours to a few days depending on capacity and use. Plus, when your home is not at risk of a power outage, you can use stored energy during the late afternoon or evening, to avoid pulling energy from the grid when it is most expensive.
The Inflation Reduction Act offers a 30% tax credit for both rooftop solar and battery storage. If you need to upgrade your main panel, you can receive a $1,000 rebate if you select a system using the Solar+Battery Assistant available through the SVCE eHub.
