When local communities came together to form SVCE, it was to help provide access to clean energy for all customers and further the demand for more renewable energy in California. To date, SVCE has signed contracts for more than $1.6 billion in long-term renewable energy projects, and several of these projects are now under construction!
SVCE began signing long-term, (10-20 year) power purchase contracts in 2018. These new renewable energy projects are important for a stable transition to a clean, carbon-free grid, a necessary solution in the fight against climate change.
Projects currently under construction include:
Of the 13 long-term clean energy contracts that SVCE has signed, 10 are brand new projects including the ones featured above. These are the first projects to begin construction, and some will be producing electricity early next year. For more information on the contracts SVCE has signed please visit svcleanenergy.org/choices/#resources-map.

Solar+battery storage is key for an all-electric, FutureFit home. It furthers the transition to a clean energy grid, and helps increase home energy resilience during potential emergencies or power outages. That’s why SVCE has not one, but two different ways customers can learn about, receive incentives for, and install home solar+battery storage.
The Solar+Battery Assistant is a no-obligation, end-to-end online concierge service to help you design your solar+battery installation, independently compare pricing from multiple installers, and access financing options. Plus, customers can receive $1,000 off an electrical panel upgrade, which may be needed for future electric home upgrades.
Customers that install solar+battery storage through Lights On Silicon Valley can receive a $1,250 rebate when enrolling their battery in the program. Sunrun will install and utilize your stored energy during times when there is a lot of demand on the grid, helping SVCE to reduce grid congestion and reduce emissions from fossil fuel power plants.
Some of your neighbors have already made the switch to all-electric living and use solar+battery storage to power their homes – emissions-free! See how they did it at svcleanenergy.org/all-electric-award.

Comparison from ev.svcleanenergy.org.
There are many variables to consider when shopping for a new vehicle, such as color, size, and more recently, fuel type. With gas vehicles being the largest source of emissions in Silicon Valley, switching to an all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle is a highly-impactful action for people looking to reduce local pollution and save money on gas. With over 60 different electric and plug-in hybrid models available in California, drivers can choose from a variety of styles, price points and even drivetrains.
But what does the switch to electric look like, and what should a driver think about before buying? We have complied a list of common considerations in our blog post “How to consider if an electric vehicle is right for you.”
You can also browse and compare specific all-electric, plug-in hybrid and gasoline models to see how much you could save. Browse, compare and explore your options at ev.svcleanenergy.org/compare-vehicles.
