URGENT call to action: Return stolen funds back to the First District
Dear Neighbor,
As you may know, former Supervisor Andrew Do was convicted of stealing more than $10 million in funds that were meant to serve our First District residents. I am proud to share that because of my fight to recover these funds over the last 18 months, the federal government has recovered and returned $3,697,830.63 to the county.
Now the question is: what happens to that money?
The Orange County Board of Supervisors will discuss how these recovered funds are allocated at the June 9 meeting. Our position is clear. This money was stolen from the First District, and it must come back to the First District.
For the past five years, every other district in Orange County has benefitted from the same community funds to support their cities, nonprofits, civic projects which strengthens their communities. However, our district went without because Do stole what belonged to our residents.
Now we have the opportunity to make it right. You have seen firsthand what our office is capable of when we have the tools to serve this community. Imagine what we can do with these resources finally back where they belong.
I am asking you to do two things.
1) Speak at the Board of Supervisors meeting on June 9 and give public comment. Tell the Board that this money belongs to the First District and must be returned to our community. Your voice, as someone who knows this community and has been a part of it, carries real weight in that room. And please bring a friend. The more First District voices the Board hears, the stronger our case.

2) Submit a letter directly to the Board using the link below. Every message matters.

You know that looking out for our community is what I do. This is one of the most direct opportunities we have had in years to deliver something meaningful for the people of our district. I hope to see you on June 9 to fight for our communities and the 640k residents who live here.
With gratitude,
JANET NGUYEN Supervisor, First District Orange County Board of Supervisors
