Dear Friends and Neighbors:
Today, I was joined by Congressman Derek Tran, who represents the residents in the 45th Congressional District, to discuss the potential local impacts of the recently announced (and then rescinded) budget freeze, along with other policies from the Trump administration, on our county residents.
Our discussion focused on ways we can work together to safeguard residents who depend on local transportation, health, and social services from the disruption and uncertainty caused by these harmful policies.
I’m grateful for the Congressman’s visit and for his strong commitment to protecting our community. I also want to thank him for his ongoing support of immigrant communities and for ensuring that their stories of hard work and striving for the American Dream aren’t overshadowed by divisive and harmful politics.
I will continue to closely monitor the changing landscape of federal policies and remain committed to fighting to ensure Orange County gets its fair share of funding to support our community.
