This was a busy and interesting week for me! On Saturday, I attended the Laguna Beach Seniors Annual Gala, where Supervisor Foley was the Entertainment sponsor. I presented a Proclamation on behalf of the Supervisor, recognizing LB Seniors for 48 years of enhancing the lives of seniors through programming, services, and advocacy to promote independence, wellness and community. Check out their amazing work here https://thesusiq.org/.

On Monday, Deputy Chief of Staff Alyssa and I staffed the Supervisor at the Ladera Ranch Civic Council Town Hall, where Supervisor Foley listened to the questions, concerns and ideas in support of Ladera Ranch residents. On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of presenting a Grand Opening Certificate to Crumbl Cookies in Ladera Ranch! The cookies were so delightful; you can’t have just 1! Check them out when you’re in the area https://crumblcookies.com/caladeraranch.
Finally, on Friday, I visited the San Clemente Animal Shelter to present a Renovation Certificate to the Pet Project Foundation. It’s a beautifully renovated facility and volunteers have logged in over 26,000 service hours to connect pets to their forever homes. Check them out here https://petprojectfoundation.org/. As summer nears, our team will be out and about at Earth Day events, farmer’s markets in Ladera and Rancho Mission Viejo, Dia Del Nino and more. Hope to see you soon!

What a busy week! The highlight of this week was attending the Student-led Town Hall at Cal State Fullerton! Never did I think, as a Long Beach State grad, that I would enjoy being on CSUF’s campus! Jokes aside, hearing from the students & other public affairs leaders about issues concerning the greater Orange County community.
|
We then broke into smaller groups to hear from students on presentations they created on certain topic areas. The presentations I was able to sit in on and give input were: the Death Penalty, Free Speech in K-12 Schools, & the Fourth Amendment. Even though they were all underclassmen at CSUF, they gave great presentations on complicated issues that were very informative. It was like a blast in the past – reminding me of my Political Science curriculum in school!
It is kitten season! Courtesy of OC Animal Care, please remember to “WAIT-WATCH-WIN"! Please see the below graphic for how to handle if you come upon a stray kitten.

Pet of the Week
Meet Pet of the Week, Redford! Redford's sultry eyes do not melt your heart, then his charming smile will! When this one-year-old Labrador Retriever Vizsla first arrived at the shelter, he was nervous and hesitant, but over time has blossomed into a warm-hearted pup. With time and trust, he is now wagging his tail and is always ready for a walk! Not only is he affectionate and calm, this clever boy will sit for treats. Because he loves all the attention that he can get, we believe Redford will do best in a home with no young children.
Looking for a cutie that will go on long strolls with you? Redford is your boy! To adopt Redford, call (714) 935-6848 and mention Animal ID# A1809796.
