Make Your Plan to Vote on November 3
The November 3, 2026 General Election is coming up. Ballots will begin arriving by mail in October, and Ontario voters can return theirs by mail, at an official ballot drop box, or vote in-person.
What’s on the ballot in Ontario? Voters citywide will elect a Mayor, and residents of Districts 2 and 3 will vote for their City Council representative. Council elections are staggered; Districts 1 and 4 are next scheduled for election in 2028. For Ontario municipal election information visit the City website.
Ontario voters will also decide on Measure H, a proposed additional half-cent local sales tax. If approved, it is expected to generate approximately $32.5 million annually in locally controlled funds that could be used for fire, paramedic, police and 911 response; streets and potholes; parks and public spaces; homeless services; and other City services. The tax would remain in effect until ended by voters. Learn more at OntarioCA.gov/MeasureH.
City Facilities will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day.
Here's what to expect:

Travelers at Ontario International Airport (ONT) can now take the guesswork out of waiting for a shuttle, thanks to a new real-time tracking system that shows exactly where airport buses are and when they are expected to arrive. The new Bus Genius system allows passengers to scan QR codes posted at shuttle stops and throughout the airport to access a live map displaying the location of each shuttle and estimated arrival times. The QR codes also are available at Travelers Aid stations and on flyOntario.com. Each ONT shuttle is equipped with a GPS-enabled tablet that identifies the vehicle within the system and continuously updates its location. The technology also assists shuttle drivers by providing timing information to help regulate departures and reduce “bus bunching,” when multiple shuttles arrive at the same stop at once.
The myOntario allows you to search for your favorite city park or facilities, find your local library, explore upcoming events, stay current with news and alerts, and report maintenance and service issues!
The City of Ontario conducts Weed & Refuse Abatement inspections twice a year, in the spring and fall, to help reduce fire hazards, remove excess vegetation and keep properties throughout our community well maintained.
During inspections, vacant properties are checked for overgrown weeds, brush, refuse and other potential hazards. Property owners are responsible for maintaining weeds and brush at 6 inches or less and providing required clearance around structures and property lines.
Keeping properties clear doesn’t just improve the appearance of our neighborhoods—it helps protect homes, businesses and the surrounding community from potential fire hazards.
Fall inspections begin in October. Property owners are encouraged to review their properties and complete any necessary maintenance ahead of inspections.
Learn more about Weed & Refuse Abatement requirements at OntarioCA.gov.
