In Ontario, We Shoot for the Moon
Yesterday, many of us found ourselves watching in awe as Artemis II mission prepared to make history. Here in Ontario, that moment felt especially personal.
We are proud to celebrate Ontario High School alumnus Victor Glover, Class of 1994, as he embarks on this groundbreaking journey. From his early days in our community to earning his engineering degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, his path reflects the determination, curiosity, and excellence that define Ontario.
As part of Artemis II, Glover and his fellow astronauts will travel farther into space than humans have in decades, orbiting the Moon and returning home in a mission designed to pave the way for future exploration. This historic flight is a critical step toward humanity’s return to the Moon and eventual missions to Mars.
For our community, this mission represents more than scientific progress. It is a powerful reminder that greatness can begin right here at home. Glover’s journey from Ontario to orbit around the Moon inspires the next generation of dreamers, thinkers, and leaders in our city.
We proudly wish him a successful mission and a safe return home.
Help Shape the Future of Local Transit in Ontario
The City of Ontario is exploring new local transit options to better connect residents, businesses, and visitors to key destinations throughout the community. As Ontario continues to grow, convenient and reliable transportation is important to improving mobility, supporting economic development, and enhancing quality of life.
The study will evaluate potential transit solutions connecting major employment centers, shopping and dining areas, parks, schools, and regional transportation hubs. The goal is to identify options that make it easier to travel within Ontario and support a more connected community.
The study is expected to be completed in 2026, and public input will help shape the process. Residents, businesses, and stakeholders are encouraged to take a short survey and share feedback on how local transit could better serve Ontario.
Have Your Say on Ontario’s Future!
