The Orange County Sanitation District (OC San) Board of Directors has elected Jon Dumitru, Councilmember for the City of Orange, as the new Board Chairperson, and Christine Marick, Councilmember for the City of Brea, as the Board Vice Chairperson. The roles will take effect on July 1, 2026, and they may be held for up to two-years.
Jon Dumitru succeeds Ryan Gallagher, Councilmember for the City of Tustin, who led the OC San Board for two years, overseeing strategic initiatives including the agency’s 2025 Strategic Plan update, implementation of the Resource Innovation for a Sustainable Environment (RISE) Program, and continued leadership in environmental protection and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Dumitru served on OC San’s Board of Directors from 2007 to 2012 and began serving again in 2023. He currently serves on the Steering Committee, Operations Committee, and the Audit Ad Hoc Committee.
Ms. Marick served as an Alternate Director in 2013 and was appointed to the Board as a Director in 2022, and currently serves as the Chair of the Administration Committee. Together, the Chair and Vice Chair will continue supporting OC San’s Strategic Plan and the agency's priorities for environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and reliable wastewater service.
