As we reflect on Memorial Day and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country, we also take time this May to recognize another group of dedicated individuals – our public employees. This month, we celebrated Special Districts Week and National Public Works Week (May 18–24). This was a time to honor the dedicated professionals who help make OC San the exceptional agency it is, committed to protecting public health and the environment every day.
At OC San we are public works professionals and this year’s theme of “People, Purpose, Presence” captures exactly who we are. Our dedicated staff work behind the scenes to provide an essential service to 2.6 million people across north and central Orange County.
Special districts come in all shapes and sizes, serving diverse populations and unique landscapes. While each district is different, they all share a common goal to provide critical services that keep our communities running safely and smoothly. The contributions are vital though often unseen, they are always at the heart of our daily lives.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our staff and to public works professionals everywhere for their hard work and unwavering commitment.
