New Year, New Activities in Newport Beach

The Recreation & Senior Services Department is here to support your goals of making time for yourself, discovering a new hobby, refining your skills, connecting with friends, and staying active in the new year. We have an exciting selection of winter classes for all ages to help you refresh your routine. Click here to learn more and register now. Basketball & Pickleball

Come over to Newport Coast Community Center for our drop-in sports happening year-round!

Looking to perfect your jump shot? Newport Coast Community Center offers both open gym shoot-around hours as well as adult “pick-up” style basketball games. Adult Drop-in Basketball is scheduled every Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Newport Coast Community Center’s indoor gym. $3 drop-in fee per visit.

Do you love pickleball? We got that too! Drop-in Pickleball is scheduled every Monday and Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. $3 drop-in fee per visit (minimum 5 pass card required). Dink responsibly!

Swim with Us

Float over to the Marian Bergeson Aquatics Center at Corona del Mar High School to enjoy open Lap Swim. Lap Swim takes place Monday-Friday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Water you waiting for?

Ready set go! Registration for the Newport Beach Youth Track Meet of Champions is now open! The meet will take place Friday, March 17^th at Newport Harbor High School’s Davidson Field. City Hotline Provides Updates on Sports Fields, Trail Conditions

With the rainy season upon us, City staff regularly monitors weather forecasts and tracks the impact of rain on the condition of City fields and hiking trails.

Staff evaluates the safety and playability to determine if temporary field closures are necessary. Updates are available by phone through the "mudline" or by text and email.

Registration for Summer Camps on campnewport.com begins Thursday, March 9 at 8:00 am. Save the date!

Sunday, March 12

Come check out the youth camps and programs that we have lined up for summer at our 2023 Camp Newport Expo at the Spirit Run on Sunday, March 12 from 6:30 am to 11:00 am. Camp Newport Expo is located at the finish line of the Spirit Run in Fashion Island, Newport Beach.

Friday, March 17

Join us for the 2023 Newport Beach Youth Track Meet of Champions. Cosponsored by the Newport Beach Recreation & Senior Services Department and the Newport-Balboa Rotary Club, the multi-event competition will include individual running at varying distances, as well as throwing and jumping events. All participants will receive an event t-shirt.
