MTC   Comment on I-880 Express Lane Toll Policy
MTC will open its new I-880 Express Lanes in the summer of 2020. The toll system is being installed now, and testing will begin in spring 2020. MTC   Streets and Roads Benefit from Gas Tax Dollars
Bay Area cities and counties largely improved the quality of the pavement on their local street and road networks in 2018. With more state dollars flowing to cities’ and counties’ pavement programs after the November 2017 start of the Senate Bill 1 fuel tax increases, the region boosted its average pavement condition index score for 2018 to 68 out of 100 points.   Pier Retention
As the old Bay Bridge East Span was dismantled, some of its foundation piers were retained as tangible reminders of the original span. One of the vista platforms made from the old span is now open to the public on Yerba Buena Island.
