Hearing Loss in Seniors

Hearing loss is a common concern among seniors. Join Dr. Ken Peters for practical advice on how to improve your hearing, with a focus on communication strategies, hearing aids, and assistive listening devices.

Age Well with California Highway Patrol
Thursday, June 12 at 1 p.m.
California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Age Well, Drive Smart senior driver education class was developed to assist senior drivers, 65 years of age and older, to continue to drive safely. This is a FREE class taught by a CHP Officer and co-taught by a CHP Senior Volunteer. The curriculum addresses such topics as aging and its effects on safe driving, maintaining good physical health, self-assessment, and more.

Wellness for Older Adults

As we age, maintaining wellness becomes even more important for a vibrant and fulfilling life. Join Santa Clara County’s Prevention Services Division and learn how taking small steps toward overall health can have a big impact on your well-being.

Indoor Dining
The Community Services Agency’s Senior Nutrition Program offers dine-in meals in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., sign-in starts at 11 a.m., and lunch is served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall closes at 1 p.m. A $3 donation is suggested for permanent residents 60+ of Santa Clara County.
Lunch service is first come, first served and availability is not guaranteed.

Drop in and enjoy friendly games at our new Mahjong Club on Tuesdays in Multi-purpose Room B from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. — no instruction provided, just relaxed play with others who enjoy the game. All skill levels are welcome - tiles and tables provided. |

Movies are shown on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. and on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Join us for a screening in Multipurpose Room B.
Please note: Seating is limited to 36, and spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. When available, captions are provided.
Also, remember to dress warmly or bring a lap blanket, as the room tends to be on the cooler side.

Senior Adult Legal Assistance (SALA) offers free legal services at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for Santa Clara County residents aged 60 or older. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.

Free Grocery pick-up is the first through fourth Tuesday of each month, 8:30 - 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required. For more information, visit the Front Desk or stop by during program hours. Operated by the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Free blood pressure screenings are offered by a volunteer registered nurse June 13 and 27 from 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Multi-purpose Room A. No registration required.

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) appointments are available at the Senior Center on the second Tuesday of each month from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. A volunteer counselor can assist with your health care options and rights. Pre-registration required, and space is limited.

Post season tax assistance with certified volunteers available on the second Wednesday of the month at 9 and 10 a.m. Volunteers offer free e-filing and assistance for low to medium income taxpayers. Pre-registration required.
