-
Teen Summer Volunteer Program: Volunteers will help kids explore STEAM concepts through hands-on experiments and creative activities at a weekly summer program.
-
Amplify: Teen Voices: Does your teen have an interest or passion they'd like to showcase? Through Amplify, librarians will work with teens to create and present a public program so they can share their interests and build connections with their community.
-
Library Vibe Check: Teens are invited to join us on Wednesday, April 30 for boba and interactive activities as we collaborate to make their experiences at the Library even better.

April Fools' with Sun Microsystems |
|
|
Sun Microsystems, Sun for short, was a pioneering firm that bridged Silicon Valley’s origins as a hub of the global semiconductor industry and its present, where web-based services and platforms dominate. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Santa Clara, Sun maintained a facility in Mountain View at 2550 Garcia Avenue. While Sun is remembered for developing and popularizing the Java programming language and several varieties of the UNIX operating system, it was also an innovator in an additional arena: April Fools’ pranks.
Sun became famous for the elaborate pranks employees carried out on company executives. In 1988, Vice President of Advanced Development Wayne Rosing (pictured above) and several colleagues in Sun’s Mountain View office turned CEO Scott McNealy’s office into a golf course.
For more images of Sun's pranks, as well as numerous other aspects of local history great and small, stop by the Mountain View History Center on Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m. or by appointment.
