Hello Medi-Cal Subscriber,
New changes to Medi-Cal asset rules mean more people can keep their coverage. Non-income assets will not be considered during Medi-Cal renewals. Current members do not need to provide any information about non-income assets. These include bank accounts, property, and vehicles.
You do not need to report these assets on your renewal form. You do not need to submit proof of your assets. Your Medi-Cal office should NOT ask you for asset information. They do not affect your eligibility.
Renewal forms in 2023 will still ask for asset information. You do not need to complete this section. Starting in January 2024, renewal forms will no longer ask for this information.
You do need to report income you get from your assets. For example, rent paid to you from a property you own.
If you have questions, help is available. Contact your local Medi-Cal office or a Health Enrollment Navigator.
