I am pleased to share continued progress on Binford Road. Today, 26 individuals are residing there, down from 42 in August and 134 at its peak.
Our outreach teams have built strong relationships with people living on Binford Road and are working closely with them to complete the documentation, eligibility requirements, and other steps needed to move into housing. This sustained, individualized support is helping more people move toward stable housing.
We remain focused on resolving the Binford Road encampment by June 30, 2027 and I am encouraged by the progress we are making as we work toward that goal.

Marin County is looking ahead, and we want you to be part of the conversation!
For the first time in over 25 years, the County is developing a comprehensive Countywide Strategic Plan. The plan, Envision Marin, will help guide County priorities, services, investments, and decision-making for years to come. It will help ensure that County programs, budgets, and projects are aligned around shared community priorities.
This is an important opportunity to think beyond the issues immediately in front of us and consider the bigger picture:
- What do we value most about Marin today?
- What challenges and opportunities should we be preparing for?
- What should County government prioritize in the years ahead?
Most importantly, the plan should not be developed by County government alone. We want to hear what matters most from people who live, work, learn, and do business in Marin.
Share Your Ideas Online Visit Engage Marin, our online community engagement platform, to tell us what you value about Marin, what you would like to see improved, protected or prioritized, and your vision for our future. You can see ideas submitted by others and join the conversation.

Attend a Community Workshop In late November and early December a series of community workshops will be held at locations across the County. Each workshop will cover the same information, so you’re able to attend whichever one works best for you. For a full list and to register, visit the Envision Marin webpage. The workshops will provide an opportunity to learn more about the strategic planning process and share your ideas and perspective.
Save the date for the Novato location workshop:
Monday, November 16, 2026 6:00 PM –7:30 PM Marin Humane Auditorium: 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato
Community input gathered this fall will help inform the goals, priorities, and strategies that make up the Strategic Plan. A draft plan will be available for review in early 2027.
Please help spread the word by sharing these engagement opportunities with your friends, family, and neighbors too - we want to hear from everyone!
Whether you participate online, attend a workshop, or do both, I hope you will take the opportunity to share your perspective. This is our opportunity to help shape Marin’s future, and I hope you’ll be part of it.
