Update from Supervisor Sackett: Marinwood Apartments

Dear Neighbors,

The Marin County Community Development Agency issued building permits for the Marinwood Apartments. This project is located at Marinwood Plaza (175 Marinwood Ave, San Rafael), where four three-story apartment buildings will be constructed, creating a total of 125 affordable apartments. Marinwood Market will remain, and the development will include a café that will be open to the public.

As part of the building permit review, the County's Department of Public Works approved a construction management plan. With any construction project, there will be impacts to neighbors, and the developer is committed to minimizing disruptions. The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board required environmental cleanup of the Marinwood Plaza site. After extensive cleanup efforts and regulatory review, the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board determined that no further active remediation of the site is required, and construction can begin.
